KZ Riders,
Does anyone know the purpose of the bolt hole tabs on a 1983-'84 1100 GPZ that are located just about where the top mounts for a pair on conventional shocks would go if the bike didn't have the single shock "Unitrack" system?
They do come in handy for many things,
I use them now for trailer tie down hooks when I
prefer to use four tie down straps instead of just the two on the front when you need to transport your bike. They're also good for bungie hooks.
I'm thinking of using them to fabricate a hitch system to tow a single wheel sport bike trailer for sport touring. But they look like they were there for a purpose other than what I mention. Maybe saddle bag brackets? Anyone know?
Thanks,
Stephen

Yep, they're upper shock mounts. The GPz frame is basically a gussetted twin shock frame with the Unitrac shock mount being an after thought. They make a convenient place to hang your exhaust from!
