forks size

how can you tell what size forks are on bike. have 1977 kz1000a and guy has rim i want but he asked if i had the smaller or large size forks on my bike. how can you measure them

they are same diameter from 73-80 as far as i know around 36mm;)

That was me you talked to on the rim. I just saw your post, hope you see this. Its the axle size not the forks. The wheel uses the smaller diameter axle found on leading axle forks.

I also have a sopke rim in the same size/configuration. Let me know if you can use it if for some reason you don't get the one on ebay.
