On my 80 750 the cap unscrews using a a wrench on the schader valve housing. Theres two flat sides around where the valve goes into the cap. Hope this helps.

Weird. I can turn the shrader valve with a socket but the upper cap has no threads, it just spins.
I decided to put it all back together. I put the new seals in (thanks Z1), dressed the upppuer tubes with 800 grit and meatal polish, and bolted the tubes back together. I used a Hobico model airplane fuel pump to fill the tubes with about 155 cc of 15w though the drian plug. I laid them down on my workbench and cranked away with the hand pump.
SO I CHEATED...SUE ME!!!![:p :p](/media/kunena/emoticons/16.png)
I got her back together and went for a quick ride. Got back and found no leaks and the same air pressure I filled 'em with.
Still I have no idea how those tubes come apart.
