My 82 750 H3 has 36mm forks, but they are not the originals.
I wonder if 37mm would fit without changing the triple tree?
McDroid, not to hijack this thread but could you mesaure the inside distance between the upper fork legs. Enquiring minds want to know.

I may have been a bit hasty with my original measurements...last night, I took my time, used a vernier caliper, and repeatedly got 36.6mm as a fork diameter...so, you tell me...do I have 36mm or 37mm forks:unsure: ? But, I digress, the measurement you asked for was 150mm...and yeah, I measured it correctly:laugh:

I have a sheet (somewhere) at home from an out of business supplier for Kawasaki forks.
It shows what size forks for different models that they used to sell. Alot of them were 36mm, and they went on 650's, 750, and some 1000's.
I would not doubt that it would measure 36.something
If I can find the sheet this weekend I will try to post the information.
Thanks!

750 twins from 76-80 had 36mm forks, as did the 650's and 1000's.
At one time I had the following, GPz550 forks 35mm, KZ750B and G 36mm, KZ650SR 36mm, GPz750A1 37mm, and KZ1000M2 38mm.
