Is an 18 inch spoked back wheel and axle the same for a 78 1000 and a 78 750?

The wheel will work, but I don't know about the axles, they may be different lengths. They both have 20mm rear axles.

Might try checking kawasaki.com to see if axle part number is same on both models. :)

78 KZ1000A2: 42031-034

78 KZ750B3: 42031-052

Axle part numbers.

I don't know what the difference is though, might be length or just the design of the head of the axle.

After perusing the parts diagrams for the 78 KZ1000A2 and the 78 KZ750B3 for awhile, it looks like the only difference is one spacer and the axle, all the other part numbers for bearings/spacers/seals are the same. That leads me to believe that the KZ1000 swingarm is wider than the KZ750, thus requiring a longer axle and one longer spacer.
