Fork Air Balancer tube question

I have a 83 GPZ 750 does anyone know if it is critical to have the small hole on the fork legs lined up with the air balancer. I think this is what they call the part that connects to both forks and has the air valve. Thanks in advance Brad

It has to line up enough that air can pass through.

Welcome to KZr Brad.

No, the holes on the tubes don't need to be lined up exactely with the holes for the cross-over air tube, but need to be within the portion the fork tubes themselves slide through.
If you're reinstalling the forks through that assy, be certain to thoroughly clean it of any debris/dust and examine the o-rings (2 on each side) that are in it for any signs of wear or damage.
If the o-rings are damaged or worn, it will cause fork oil to leak out and end up all over the lower front of your fuel tank and the upper engine area = messy! :pinch:

Thanks everyone for the quick reply. I can hardly wait to start riding. I had a GPZ 550 when I was younger and have always loved the bike hope to be riding soon.
Its been a real learning experience and really appreciate the support.
