headlight Ears? What am I missing
07 May 2007 12:57
I have a 82 CSR kz650, when I got it it had a windjammer on it. I took it off and sold it and plan on using late 70's ears and bucket. I bought a set off ebay but I think I'm missing something. If I slip the forks through the ears between the triples I still have an inch or so free space. Am I missing a spacer or something?

Yes, you are mimssing two spacers.
If you go to buykawasaki.com and look up headlight in the parts diagrams you will see part# 92075A.
I think that's what you're looking for.

I just got the ears themselves, is there any place to get the top and bottom spacers? Other than a breaker or ebay.

I think I may have misled you.
What I thought you meant was side to side freespace.
If you meant top to bottom free space, then I was looking at the wrong diagram.
On the late 70's regular KZ's the fork ears have a 'fork cover' that goes underneath the ears, but I'm not sure if it would take up the space. I'd have to look when I get home.
:S
If that is indeed the piece Z1E sells them.
