Chain & Sprockets was created by JanTaliban
Hi!

When I put a straightedge between the front and rear sprockets they doesn´t line up. It seems that the rear sprocket is about 3 - 5 mm more to the left. Is this normal. Also when I rotate the wheel, the chain is thighter in one spot... Hmmmm. Thankful for any help. I have a 750 LTD Twin -83.

Every chain I've seen (new or old) has a tight spot in it, so nothing to worry about there.
When you adjust your chain tension, the tight spot is where you want to check the free play at.

As far as the rear sprocket being off by 3 - 5 mm, it's possible you may have installed an axle spacer incorrectly, or forgot to reinstall it altogether.
I'd suggest checking the diagram for your bike at kawasaki.com to see the proper locations, and in which order all of the axle spacers go to be certain they're installed correctly.

If you have a 1983 KZ750 twin, then it's a KZ750K1 with belt drive, and since it has a chain, then someone has converted it to chain, and if someone has converted it to chain, then maybe they didn't get the spacers right.
Go to the parts diagrams at kawasaki.com and compare what you have to the 82 KZ750M1 and the 83 KZ750K1, and see what matches the wheel and spacers currently on your bike.
