Can anyone tell me what these fork originaly came from. I got them on the front of a 73 Z1. They look like mid 80s to me.

It does look like my fork especially that sticker that is on it. Does it have a air valve at the top?

they look like they could be off of a kz1000j model. the j models started coming out in 1981. if you are looking for a true set of z1 forks you need to find the ones that have the circle shaped yellow reflecters on them.

Well, with the dual disks, enkei mags, and the leading axle, I'm also inclined towards a 1981/2 KZ1000K model.
The E model had painted forks (and the sticker suggests the forks haven't been painted). The J model had center axles.
I'm still going with kzwolfsr ![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)

Is it possible they only changes the lower fork? I ask this because there is no air valve at the top. This bike also has a KZ1000 motor in it.

Yes, it is possible only the lower fork legs were swapped. The diameter of the fork tubes must be the same as the Z1 (in order for the tubes to fit into the triple tree clamps and the lower legs)...unless, of course, the triple tree was also changed.

The KZ750H [4 cyl, LTD model) forks look exactly like that.
Petaluma and Truckee, CA -- member since Jan. 23, 2003;
PREVIOUS KZs: 1980 KZ750H with 108,000 miles; 1980 KZ750E with 28,000 miles; and KZ750H street/cafe project, all sold a few years back.
This is what I do for fun, not for work. It is art, with a little engineering thrown in.
