New seat kz650
26 Apr 2007 19:33
Does anyone have a link to new seats? I have a very cool seat on my 650 but it is done, I need a new one. I don't like the stock seats and would like some options. Any help would be appreciated.

nifty! The seat on my bike came with it too and I love it except it is now old and needs to be replaced. JCwhitney has a couple but I don't like them. My seat is very low, almost a touring seat. Very comfortable but I can't find one like it. I woulod like to find a seat like it because I'm so used to it.

Try eBay.
NOS seats for the KZ's show up there every once in a while, of course age itself usually cause the vinyl to become brittle and prone to cracking the first time someone sits on it. :pinch:
I believe you can still send in your seat pan to Corbin and have them install new foam and cover in a "gunfighter" style.
I simply reshaped the foam with a bread knife and recovered my own seat.
It looks pretty decent from a distance (and of course when my butt is covering it ), but shows it was an amateur done job when seen up close.
It sure beats the tattered cover that was on there before, and it only cost me $12 in Marine grade vinyl as opposed to about $250, which is what I heard Corbin charges to fabricate and install a "Gunfighter" seat.

Look for a refurbishing company, who will remake the seat for you. I left my 1000 outside of a bike store for 10 minutes and when I came back to it there was a business card on my bike for a company that does that stuff, since my seat on the bike has a big rip in it

This is a seat I bought off ebay. It has the stock pan, so shows you what can be done with an existing seat if you wanted to redo it:

Thanks for the links. Here's my seat. I would like to get a seat like it. I don't really like the stock seats, they're not very comfortable on long rides. I might try to have it reapolsterd, or at least see how much it would be.
