Anyone know if the kit offered by schnitz will fit an 82 1000? I am not familiar yet with the differences between the early and late models...Here's a link:

Well it only says to 1980. I guess you can try it but I am guessing that our 100 forks maybe of different diameter and different dimensions

Forgot to say, either install the forks lower in the trees or whatever they call it, or do what I did for months before my recent fork seal change...... ride with the forks airless, they still have usable suspension without air

I have the forks up in the trees already. I have clip ons and I have the forks about an inch or so past that. I did the airless thing for a day and it handled like total shite...Just looking to get the most performance out of these as possible as I dont have the dough to do an inverted fork swap...

The early model KZ1000 forks (up through 1980) are 36mm diameter, the later model (81-83) are 38mm diameter.
