78 Z1R Front master cylinder

hey guys im having a bit of a problem finding a master cylinder or rebuild kit for a 78 z1r. the front is leaking and Im hoping someone out there still has one alive and knows where to get the parts so i can get this bike out on the road again.

yes the master cylinder is cable operated for clearance issues. i couldnt find any type of rebuild kit out there on the net. anyone got any clues?

The bad news is we've not been able to find a kit either. We have talked with several companies about making them, but so far nothing has moved forward.
We have one new kit left that we are not selling - that is our template for someone to make a kit from.
In a worst case scenario, we can probably provide a kit with the correct seals on the wrong piston - and you'd have to transplant the seals from the donor piston to your existing piston.
I will say those master cylinders are very strange. I have a used one here and there is NOTHING else on the market even vaguely close to it.
