1978 kz650b frontforks

I got a 78 kz650 b love the bike I bought a pair of forks off ebay he said they came off a 78 kz650 b but they are about 3 inchs shorter.I guess my question is can i put these on my bike will it mess the ride up and would i have to change anything else.

If they are that much shorter you may run into clearance issues with both the ground and front wheel.

do they have forking by frank stamped on the tubes?or they might of been slugged.
whats wrong with your existing forks?

If you end up not being able to use the forks you have, I will have a spare set in a few days for sale. I think they are off a kz750 LTD.
They are leading axle, 36mm, 32.5-33.5 inch long, air forks. I'm taking them off and switching out for a shorter set to build a cafe racer.

Yeah, whats wrong with the current forks?
1979 KZ SR650, stock candy persimmon red and crossover pipes
1981 KZ 1000LTD with non stock and more comfortable handle bars and 4 into one V&H

The forks I have now they make a pop when I hit a bump and I dont know alot about how to rebuild them I thought I could just get a another pair seeing they are pretty cheap on ebay well see where cheap got me lol.....
