77-80 (or so) KZ1000's are the only ones I can think of, the 76-79 KZ750 twins had 18" rear spoke wheels with 20mm axle and disc brakes.

Thanks, I've got a '78 twin with the 18" spoker, but am considering switching to mags. I'd like to go with dual 18"s.

83-85 GPz750 had 18" front and rear, but the rear axle is a little smaller so you would need a bushing or something. I know the front axle is a different size also, I don't remember whether it is larger or smaller though.

Basically it would be a PITA unless you used the GPz750 forks and swingarm.

I just remembered that the KZ1000P (cop bike) had 18" front and rear starting in 1980 something (I think).

Thanks for the info Steell
Would the KZ1000 use the same sprocket carrier/cush drive as my twin?

Since the 750 twin shares a lot of chassis parts with the 1000 I think it probably would, but kawasaki.com says they have different part numbers. Your 750 sprocket should bolt on the carrier though.

I have used 1000 forks, calipers, and rotors, on 750 twins, but I have never tried to use the 1000 rear wheel.

I'm seriously considering welding shock tabs on a GPz750 aluminium swingarm, then putting the swingarm, forks, and wheels on one of my 80 750 twins, just because I already have all the GPz750 parts.

It's gonna be awhile before I get a rountuit though :)
