What model front end is this?
17 Apr 2007 08:17
I started ripping apart the 650 csr I have to build a cafe racer, and I'm trying to figure out what type of front end I have. I know its not the stock setup, but what is it?
It is a leading axle air fork setup with mag wheel and dual discs. The forks are kayaba and have a kawasaki label on each leg. the calipers are single piston tokico units.
I need to figure out what it is so I can sell/trade this front end and get a kz650 c/b front end. Or even stock CSR.

Do you have pictures? What you describe could be for anything from a 650 through an 1100. Do you have fork tube diameters? Any more info will help.

You very well may have a CSR front end with wheels and brakes from another model. The CSR's had leading axle forks according to

Looks like an 82 csr bike with possibly just an 83 csr front rim and brakes, could be the forks too. I'm not sure if the axle is the same size.
Have a look at buykawasaki.com and compare part #'s.

LTD front end, probably a KZ750 since the fork tubes are so far above the top clamp.
That's my guess anyway

750/4's and 650 csr and sr's have a different shaped dust cover boot on the forks than the older models, which are bigger. If that helps any.

The frontend, wheel and brakes look just like what is on the 750 LTDs that I have. It is not a 650 CSR frontend because they did not have the mounting for the extra disc on the right side. Due to the CV carbs on it and the type of tailight I would say you have an 82 model.
