Replace fork seals w/out fork disassembly?

Hello, I would like to ask,if is it possible to replace the fork seals without completely taking apart the forks. I read somewhere in the archives that this is possible with a kz750 with air forks. Can you also top up the fork oil without opening the top cap, using only the drain port to put in some oil? I would greatly appreciate your inputs.:)

Im new to the KZ, but they are almost the same as my XS and I did it on it. I removed the tube from the bike, removed the bolt at the bottom and pumped the oil out. Make sure its aiming into a bucket or something or you will have a mess. Then I turned it upside down and slid the bottom half of the tube off. Removed/replaced the seal and slid it back on. Then I measured out the proper amount of oil and squirted it into the tube thru the bolt hole. Put the bolt back in and there ya go. :cheer:

I did try this one time on my dirt bike forks. I was told to drill some holes in the seals and thread a couple screws into them and then use a pliers on the screws to lift the seal out. In my opinion it's not worth it. The forks are not that hard to diassemble, clean and re-assemble.

Anyway, thats my two cents...

I pop the seals out with air pressure, but most of the time I have to heat the fork around the seal to get it to pop out.

I hit my seals with a screwdriver and dinged them out. I couldn't get the forks fully apart so O just repeatedly flushed them til the oil was clear
