It will fit with some modifications to the frame and possibly the gas tank, there are (or were anyway) at least a couple of 650's on here that had 1000 motors in them. Use the wiring harness that's on the frame.

As far as which wiring harness, it is easiest to use the one on the bike's frame. It matches up best with the battery box and main junction box and fuse box. Keep in mind that the ONLY electrical connections to an engine is the GROUND WIRE and the SPARK PLUG WIRES and the STATOR WIRES.
When you swap you will have to check the plug characteristics of the 900/1000 stator plug (the blue one) and match it up to the KZ650 junction box as far as the terminals go.

Now you got me thinking... 810 kit or bigger engine for my 700  I just now got me a new cylender block so I don't have to bore out my original but it might still end up cheaper to just go with the bigger engine...
Anyway, while we're on the subject... has anyone here done it and what mods are needed to make it fit the frame?

do you think the frame/suspension will take the power?900/1000 frames have enough problems and they were built to be used with these engines, has anyone ever ridden one of these conversions?

There used to be a member here that had a GPz1100 motor in a GPz750, I don't know if he is still around though.

I don't know if I will do the swap, I have an 84 KZ700 frame with no engine and thinking about what I should do with it.It was a whole bike but missing a bunch of parts like foot pegs covers rear sets brake pedal and tank along with the rear wheel and other stuff so I put the engine on my SR650,maybe someone could use a frame if I don't
