Easy question

I know you guys are gonna be all on top of this one. Where can I find a list of interchangable parts? Like...does a triple tree from a 79 650 fit my 82 750 M1?

Or like...what years and models use the same clutches?

And other such silly questions...

Any help you can offer, my (almost empty) wallet would appreciate!!

Zedder.com sells a part number cross-reference CD for that exact purpose.
But since Kawi recently revamped their site, it now also includes that cross-reference info....and that's for FREE! B)

I found it. It's not as thorough as I'd hoped. According to the crossreference there apparently aren't a lot of parts that are used on other bikes. Now I'm regretting buying this one.

Looks like the KZ 750 CSR has a lot of parts that won't work on anything else...who woulda thunk that front forks would be so different on CSRs.

Hey Torr, I'm surprised that more of the twin gurus haven't responded. You might try posting a specific question and put in the subject line something like "750 twin". There's a lot of knowledgable guys here and might be able to suggest a workaround for a specific problem. You're learning alot of pitfalls it's taken me a year to learn, thanks to these guys. Ya got a good bike. Also put your bike in your signature line along w/where you live. Maybe someone here is close.

I have a set of 1984 KZ700 fork tubes on my 79 750B twin, the tree itself I didn't try but fork tubes are same diameter (36mm)

Ok, so I'm getting braver. I can't find forks that Kaw says will fit so I decided to rebuild them myself. Aside from more downtime, it ain't that bad a deal, I'm sure.

So I walk into the Kaw dealer (I know, don't say it). I'm feeling pretty good, they seem like a bunch of typically nice parts guys. Imagine my how my heart felt when I tell this guy (the one bragging about 35 years of experience)what I wanted and he said "You gotta what? I ain't never heard of one of them. Are you sure it's a Kaw?"

This is starting to sound like a story from Lifeisaroad.com.

If you haven't read any of the stories on that site...you should. They're great...

Keep buying bikes. Then you can compare the parts to see if they fit!
