Dumb Question
07 Apr 2007 20:19
SO i jsut purchased my first bike today, a 1978 Kz400. It needs a new battery and the tank is full of rust; which brings me to my stupid question.
how do i get the tank off?
I know how newbie that sounds, but the fact is, i'm very new to the bike world.
i just can't seem to find out where the hell its bolted down at.

pull your seat off first ,if it is bolted it should be right there where seat/tank meet at.it probably just has a rubber strap holding it on there;)

i underestimated how easy that was going to be haha. it was just secured onto a rubber grommet.
in other news; the previous owner stored the bike away with no gas in it at all. all i hear are rusty flakes yay. i dont know if that would be worse or better than a half filled tank.

a full tank with stabilizer and empty carbs is the best!
