oh snap!... rear brake probs...

Well, my first spring ride brought a few problems to the surface.

The rear brake (drum) was being particularly grabby. I didn't think much of it. Anyway, come to find out one of the bolts on the retainer bar (the one that bolts to the swingarm) had come off while riding, so as I slowed to turn into my driveway I pushed the rear brake. With no bar to hold anything it wrapped the adjusting rod around the axle spacer a few times (!) and snapped off the brake pedal. Luckily, I was going 5 mph.

Anyway, darn. I guess it pays to give everything a once over before you ride.

I don't suppose anyone on here has a rear drum brake pedal assembly? with rod and all that?

Lesson learned.

It's a 1979 kz650, in SO Oregon.

I replaced the rear mag with a wire wheel that I think is from a CSR.

What I need is the pivot bolt that the brake lever slides onto. It snapped clean off!
