Left Foot Peg / Bracket Needed! was created by shaftie1100
Well I'm at it again!

I managed to break my foot peg off at around 75 mph last weekend. I need to find a new bracket and a good condition foot peg for an 1100 LTD. I think that any of the LTD brackets from a 750 on up will work.

Does anyone have one that I can buy?

BTW --> NOTE TO SELF... NO MORE KNEE DRAGGING TWISTIES UNTIL I REPLACE THE TIRES WITH SOMETHING MORE AGGRESSIVE!!! THE OLD BOGUS WHITE WALL DUNLOPS THAT WERE ON THE BIKE WHEN I BOUGHT IT JUST DON'T CUT IT!!!

Did you manage to find the footpeg and piece of the bracket it was attached to? I broke one off once, had a guy weld the bracket back together and it was plenty strong enough for me to stand up on it after I put it back on. One day, I'll polish down the bead and clean it up, but it was sure cheaper than buying a new bracket (at the time, I wasn't into Ebay, didn't know what else to do and asked a dealer what new bracket cost, trust me, you don't wanna go there).

I'm not home right now, but I think I may have some footpegs and brackets that'll work. I'll be home in a week or so and look, check back with me if you haven't worked it out by then.

Cool Rich,

I appreciate it! I've been scouring eBay, but I've only managed to find the bracket for the non-ltd models. Ours have that goofy aluminum plate. I didn't find it at the time, but maybe I'll drive back to the scene and see if I can find it still laying in the road.

Can you weld aluminum?

The place I took it to said they did aluminum welds on boats, so I figured if they could do it on something thin, a big thick piece like that would work.

Unless you're dead set on keeping it original, I think brackets from other years and models of KZ1100/1000s will bolt on. You'll want to get both sides so they look the same. I believe I have a set I got in some other junk I bought that were from an A or B model, they did look different, but I think would mount up and put the footpegs in about the right place.

I hope you find that footpeg. Mine welded up real strong, but it's a bit uglier now, I could use some files and emory paper or something and polish up the weld, I just never worried about it.

Take a look at this auction;

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1983-Kawasaki-KZ...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It's a KZ1100 LTD, looks like they're parting it out. Those brackets would be correct for your bike, ask the seller if he still has them.

I think ones from one of the other variants would work, it'd just look a little different so you'd want both sides. If it was me, I'd try hard to find my footpeg and look into getting it welded though.

Are you looking for the front foot peg or the the big long one for the rear? I have both.

Hey WM69...

On my bike, the front peg went through the long aluminum bracket... Is this not how most are connected? I'll post pics when I can get to it... The bike is parked in a warehouse right now on a pallet until my new front end comes in. I'm in the middle of doing a front end swap --> 92' GSXR 1100 USD forks / front wheel / calipers.

Aw screw it...

Anyone got a set of decent shape front pegs / brackets? I'll just have to completely remove the aluminum plates...
