help with correct caliper/pads was created by mountain
I pulled apart my caliper for a rebuild off my KZ650 B1 (single front disc) and had two other caliper assemblies, one from another B1, and one I thought was identicle. The Pads and calipers weren't all the same. Here you can see the three and their articulating pads. What is up with the one with the high center cap? Does it matter what kind of pads to use with either type of caliper? You can see two of the pads came with shims, one did not. What's going on here. Maybe they all had this cap once. Not sure on this, but brakes got to be just right, it's not worth guessing. Do I specifiy pads with this shim when I order, or without? Please help me with getting this right. Thanks.

1977 KZ 650 B1, I own two of them. Working on one custom rebuild, one daily rider. Used to have a third. Two 1978 KZ 650 C2 models, sold both. KZ owner since 1987.
