Where to purchase brake lines was created by Oznative
I know this subject probably has been beaten to death but I need advice.
I need new brake lines on my 1977 KZ1000 A-1. It has duel front calipers so I need 3 lines for the front and 1 for the rear. The front lines from the splitter to the calipers have the banjo on one end and the female coupling on the other to fit the hard piped line attached to the caliper. Where can I buy direct replacement lines? I’ve looked at Z1 and they don’t list for duel fronts.
Any suggestions?

I just got the set I ordered from www.helusa.com late last Thursday. They are stainless steel braid with a non-scratching outer coating available in the color of your choice (I chose black). The banjo ends and bolts are also stainless steel and the kit comes with new crush washers and stainless steel bolts.

My three-line kit came to $147. Last year I did a price comparison with the build-yer-own parts comparable to the HEL kit, and the HEL lines were only about $5 more without the uncertainty of an incorrectly assembled fitting that will let go when needed most.

Just call Craig with the measurements from your original lines and the positioning and angle of the banjos. Other approaches may seem cheaper, but after pricing everything I chose HEL lines and I'm satisfied with them.

As I see it, brakes are no place to "save" money.

Thanks to all who responded. On the front brakes with the duel lines do they come with the screw on fittings that attach to the hard pipe?

Most of the larger bike catalog stores sell universal brake lines. I have used Goodridge lines in the past with good result. Denniskirk.com and jpcycles.com both sells this type brake line. They carry lines in almost every length. These lines have screw in fittings and they also sell a variety of banjo fittings. You buy the 10mm fittings and screw them into the line using new crush washers. The fittings come in various configurations... straight, 45 degree, 90 degree, etc. The lines are pretty reasonable and will last forever. If you do get stainless braided lines, make sure you spend a couple bucks more and get the plastic clad stainless as regular stainless with scrape off paint.

Thanks guys I really appreciate the info. This is the first bike I've ever done and to be honest It's much more difficult than I thought. A 30 year old bike is hard to find those little parts.
