Will a center stand from a 82 KZ1100 Spectra fit a 78 KZ1000?

Don't know whether that swap would work or not, but I can tell you my experience with getting a c stand for my 1980 KZ1000. I ordered one off of Ebay that came off of a police bike, 1988 I think. I thought they'd all be the same, but they're not. Didn't fit at all. Shoulder bolts were different, and it was too long. I found some big allen head capscrews in my junk box that slid into the holes, but they didn't thread in. They just kinda fit into the holes and act as axles. As far as it being too long, I solved that problem by driving the bike up onto a couple peices of 2X4, then I could rock it back onto the stand. I just use it for maintenance. My header is in the way if I was to try to mount one permanently.
Somebody here gave me that idea, I don't remember who.
I would hazzard a guess and say that wagonmaster's '76 900 stand would probably fit your bike.
