Nuts and bolts...

Anyone know the thread size for the lock nut for the stem and the bolt for the top yoke for a 76 900?

I have a KZ1000A1 front end apart right now and I believe it is the same as the KZ900A4/5. If no one posts, I'll measure and post when I get home tonight.

I assume you are asking about the size of the threaded portion of the lower triple tree? It is 30mm...if I'm not getting your request, PM me with the lurid details.:)

KzJim:

The big bolt that screws into the top of the stem (and holds the top of the triple tree on) is a 16mm bolt.

Mcdroid.... you wouldnt be putting a taperbearing kit in that 1000 would you?.. if so.. can i get the bearing manufacture and P/N? I'd like to ger the bearing race ID tolerances from the manufacture so i can make sure it all fits together

I reverse engineered the stock KZ900 stem with modifications to replace the zx7 stem.

Yes, I will be...and I haven't purchased the kit yet, but I will be buying from the guy below...

www.ty-coon.com/categories.asp?cat=146

That is, if he eventually stocks them as he as indicated...if he doesn't in a reasonable period of time, then it will be www.Z1Enterprises.com as usual:)
