need help with Z 650 was created by ZeeEuro
My rear tire + the rim are stock KZ 650C3. I don't like how thin the rear tire is (110/90) and so i wanted to get a wider, fatter tire without modifying the swingarm.
At my shop they told me that the biggest i can go is the tire from GPZ 750 without messing with the swingarm. Is it true? What is your guys's experience with getting a wider tire on the stock wheel (18'')?

I'd really appreciate any help i can get.

I'm running my second (simply wore the first one out) 130/80-18 Dunlop GT501 on the same wheel and bike as you, and the only issue I've had to deal with was cutting a small V-shaped notch into the plastic chain guard where the tire was rubbing.

Thanks RRRR! I will definitely look into that. By the way, what kind of front tire are you currently using. Mine is cracked, so i'll have to replace that too.

Thanks for your help once again.

Hey ZeeEuro - I swapped a 130 rear onto my '77 650 Custom. This is the model with the mag wheels and triple disks. I chose Bridgestones and I find them excellent in all areas.

Welcome ZeeEuro.
I upgraded Sept. 2005 from 15 year old cracked tires to the Bridgestones I have now. 100/90-19 57H Spitfire 11F up front, and the 130/90-18 69H Spitfire 11R out back.

You're welcome. :)

I'm running a 110/90-19 matching Dunlop GT501 in front, and it also mounts without any clearance issues.
