Z1 rear axle size was created by dutchz
Hey guys, quick question: what's the diameter of a Z1 rear axle? I haven't had the opportunity to pull it out this weekend and I gotta order some bearings tomorrow. Anyone know (for sure) or have a spare axle they can reach with their calipers?

About halfway down This page in the Filebase under the KZ Information tab at the top of any forum page is a wheel bearing list.

According to that list the Z1 uses two 6304-2RS wheel bearings, and the 4 in 6304 indicates it fits a 20 mm axle.

I just found this web site and maybe You or someone can help me:( On Sept 28 a tractor-trailer cut me off going to work and I hit him doing 65mph on my Z1-900. I just got done rebulding the engine in her, 30-over and all new vavles and that. it only has 2134 miles on that motor, the full-coverage ins. wasn't received there untill two days after the wreck so they won't pay and the driver of the rig took off when he saw me on the ground. At 4:30 in the mourning there isn't to many people on the road so there was no-one to go after him! Here in Joplin MO and in this area I haven't found a frame that will fit?plus all the bills got behide because I don't go back to work for a week. And the wife doesn't want me spend alot to fix it. so is it pos. to just cut the fram tubes and replace them and the front forks/it just bent them up and back but didn't touch the engine WHAT TO DO???!!!! bigred

If you remember the name on the side of the truck, there is a possibility that you could hire a lawyer and he could subpoena the records of the company and identify the driver. Many companies use satellite tracking now.

forks off ebay are pretty cheap, ive seen em go for 10bucks, triple tree and all. id say its safer to get another frame unless you have a chassis jig and you're a super awesome kick ass welder. frames arent too expensive, 50-250 on ebay.
