SIDE STAND HEL P was created by grace1
hi was needing some advice re my side stand on my b4 twin
the main mount on the frame has worn the bolt hole and now the stand wobbles around when up not baddly but just a pain in the a##
would it be best to weld the hole and re-drill or use some sort of shim to take up the wear
appreciate any advice

I'd make the hole smaller, either by welding and redrilling or by welding another pirece on it.

Take a look at the welds that attach the bracket to the frame, I have seen the bracket split the bottom frame tube at that point on the twins.

Measure the diameter of the existing bolt, not the hole, since it's hogged out. Drill everything out to the next size SAE. There is probably enough material there to support the oversize. If it doesn't work, you can always go back to a re-weld and re-drill.

I would find a bushing that had the same ID as the stand pivot and drill out the hole and tap the bushing in place. Lot easier than welding.
