Hi All,

Can anyone enlighten me whether the KZ1000 Police special front end will bolt to the KZ900 frame? I suspect so but if anyone can explain the difference, postives and negatives that would be awesome.

Cheers

Hey steve, I noticed in your sig that you have a 74 & 75 "KZ" 900 In the states these bikes would be called Z1's from 73-75 and KZ's 76 and later is this not the case in NZ?

Hey there Dazza, Yeah I think you are right. When I brought the bikes back from Canada where they were a 75 and 76 model the local registration nazi's designated them KZ's from 74 and 76 off the frame #'s.
One of the frames is defiantely Z1F and my research shows it as a 74. So you are correct and I have amended below!
Cheers mate and I reckon the 1000 front end will bolt on right?

I'm not sure what year your police front end is from. but the bike in my avatar has a Kz1000C model (77-79?) front end and there were no problems at all. I used tapered steering head bearings and it was a straight swap as far as the headstock goes. I'm not sure about the stock wheel since I went with something newer.

Cheers Doug, Nice bike mate! I expect no problems but really won't know until I get the bits back to NZ. Cheers for the reply. Steve
