hardtail.
28 Jan 2007 16:46
i was wondering if anyone had any pictures of a 1000 from the side that is low enough to show how far the motor protrudes past the bottom frame rail. i am welding on a hardtail but, i want to make sure i have plenty of ground clearance and, stupid me did not look at the clearance before i took the motor out. thanks in advance

You could start with an 11 inch strut and if that is too long cut it down.

sweet looking bike you got there. i think i figured it all out. i just put the motor back in and, checked all my clearances so i am fine.no bottoming out for me.
i cut the swingarm out today and, started on prettying up the hole where it used to be. next i will put a gusset in to help triangulate for strength. i appreciate everyone who has helped out. thanks
