I like it, especially the hidden electricals....very nice!

If got two questions though:

The original battery placement under the seat and behind the airbox didn't get much in the way of air to keep it cool. But with where you have it placed, right above and fairly close to the engine, is there any issues so far of possibly "cooking" the battery?

I'm curious on the rear shock set-up too.
I might not be seeing it in the pics you posted, but most of the mono set-ups I've seen have the lower part of the shock mounted to a "dog leg" linkage that protrudes below the swingarm.
And both ends of your shock appear to be mounted solid, and look to rely solely on the mounting bolts as pivot points?
And with a single (yet stiffer than the two originals) smaller length shock and no linkage, doesn't that limit wheel/swingarm travel and make for a considerably rougher ride?

Like I said, I might just not be seeing it in your pics. :)

no problems with heat on the battery...sits on double insulated plate. the battery is small and there is plenty of air space around it. the battery was $40 at walmart. i custom made the harness. it uses the electronic V/Reg from a 77 kz650,starter solenoid & fuse box are from a 98 cbr600, ign system is an old gerex cdi unit fired with breaker points. would like to find some electronic picks that will work with the gerex unit..i just havent had time to retrofit anything. points work fine though.

the mono shock works way better than expected...1000% better than the old shock setup....the design is not mine however.
the doner bike (seca2/diversion) is setup the same way. i just cut the frame mounts from the doner bike and welded them into the kz900 frame. the mono shock is from a 99 gsxr. it was i lil firmer than the stock seca shock...which seemed a lil too spongy for my liking and had damping adjustments as well.
i also installed some heavier front fork springs and loaded them with semi lite fork oil to firm the front up abit.
i also added a steering damper...which i highly recommend.

The seat is homemade, tail light is a gsxr unit flippped upside dowm, rear controls are stock units from an unknown bike. the headers are cb750 with the flanges cut and fitted for the kz motor. i converted the chain to 530,the gearing is 15/44.
i am currently building the 900 motor the 650 is temp.
i cant wait. its very fast with the 650.

the bike rides very well..its very light and nimble....cornering is amazing & very comfortable.
The bike weighs in at 295lbs with a full tank.
