Rechroming forks?
17 Jan 2007 16:30
My forks have the usual pitting near the top,not tto bad but enough to eventually wear the seals.Where do I get them rechromed as I assume it is a hard chrome and different than a regular show chrome? How much can I expect it to cost?Any places you guys recommend, new england area preferred.

Hey Jeff,
I doubt that you can even get them rechromed. E-Bay is the answer.

a good crome guy can fix almost anything
another option is to polish them.
i guess it depends on what you want
show quality or acceptable apperance
my guy charges $125 per fork
so e-bay and starting over with crome or a polish might be your only option
how bought some pics of the damage?

Ya Jeff...You'd be way better off(in the wallet) to just search out a new set.
To get them fixed WILL be costly, and I'm pretty sure You can find a nice used set here(or Ebay).
