My KZ750 needs a better swing arm..

ok so I have looked and looked.. maybe I'm not doing a good enough job but I can't seem to find an answer to my questions.

1) What swing arm if any will fit my kz750? I'm going for a wider tire. I realise I might have to weld new shock mounts to the swing arm but I was wondering what swing are would attact to the frame with no problems.

2) I want to give my bike a little more aggressive stance. so how could I raise the rear end up a bit to give it that aggressive stance I want? are there aftermarket shocks I could buy to do this? Koni?

This is actually one of the more popular topics here on KZRider. (Welcome, by the way!) Do a search and you'll find a wealth of information on the subject.

Aluminum swingarms from the Suzuki GS1100 is one of the more popular conversions because it pretty much bolts right in with few mods and it's already set up for dual shocks (though you'll have to switch to clevis type shocks). Other people have altered their frames to include a mount for a monoshock so they could run a swingarm from a ZX or GSX-R or FZR or CBR or whatever.

yeah I did notice that there was a bit on the swing are topic but I hadn't noticed anyone mention anything about a bolt on or nearly bolt on swing are convertion. But thanks for the info man. I will have pictures of my bike on as soon as possible. Its pretty damn cold out right now and were building a shed to keep the biks in for the winter. This will also be a place for me to work on my bike over the winter. I have almost everything needed to start working on the bike. Only things left are the exhaust, custon made seat and swing arm. The three items that are going to cost me the most lol. :evil:

What year and model of 750 is it?

When you say KZ750 you need to specify which one, there is a KZ750 twin and a KZ750 four

ok I just went out to look at the bike. its a 1981 kz750 ltd, the exhaust says kz750h..

The "Frame Geometry" thread has info and pics of Mark1122 fitting a ZRX1200 swingarm to his 900. I'm in the process of fitting a ZRX1100 swingarm to my 1982 GPz750 racebike (see the thread "Which Swingarm?") The 1100 swingarm, to me at least, looks the "Vintage Superbike" part as it is a tube design that looks like the Kawi S1 Superbike racers of the early 80s. The 1200 arm has a double-tube design, which has more of a "custom" look. The arms are the same dimension otherwise. If you want a complete bolt-on rear end, buy the ZRX rear wheel (the 1100 is 5.0 x 17, the 1200 5.5 x 17), cush drive, rotor, caliper, and caliper hanger.

Mark 1122 had to mill .080" off to fit his arm into his frame. I'm going to have to take off about .25" to get the arm to fit my frame. I'm don't believe either one of us has worked out sprocket alignment yet, but you'll face that anytime you go to a wider wheel, regardless of the swingarm.
