a stator for a kz 650 1980 can replace a stator for a kz 650 B 1978?

is it easy to install?

If it aint broke don't fix it. the stators hardley ever go bad and they all put out the same amount of juice. If your having charging problems try checking your regulator.

Pato...I am guessing your 650 is the B2-later permanent magnet type alternator, right? The 1980 stator windings will bolt onto your '78 no prob, not sure reagarding the wiring colors but they are compatible in operation (may just be a matter of switching plugs ends to match your bike's harness). Don is right, though...they are very rugged and last a long time.
good luck!
