you know, it's funny but yet still informative to see you guys keep going on a subject long after I have my answer~!:laugh:

It sounds like it is similar to lighting dimming systems that send control signal over the same line as power supply....

The brown sense line is meant to sense battery voltage. The red output wire from the regulator also goes to the battery. They go to the same place... the battery.

If anything, the brown wire would be a worse place to sense the battery since it takes a longer path.

The only real difference is that the red wire does not get switched (which makes it a better indicator of actual battery voltage).
