Scott, that looks pretty good! I went down to my Kaw dealer yesterday to pick up an oil filter washer (PO didn't have one on the filter) and found a few interesting tidbits.
There are kits available for this type of idea, with just the "indicators" (turn signals), a bracket for relocating them to the license plate bracket, and a relay if you need it due to the reduced current draw. Here's an example of it but it's from the UK:

I just bought the small LED turn signals and will take a piece of strap steel and make a simple bracket, the width of the license plate with two ears bent 90-degrees toward the front of the bike. I'll do four holes (2 for the license place, 2 for the turn signals) and paint it.
