Ok, I am new to this site and I hope someone could help me. I bought a 76 kz900 in boxes and I have it back together. Well mostly, I am checking the electrics and everthing works except the turn signals. This is going to sound really dumb but,I traced the wires from the turn signal switch on the bars down to the main wiring harness and their they were. Green,orange, and grey on a female connecter. Now I cannot seem to find where the hell this plugs into! Any help would greatly be appretiated!

Welcome Home, Dean.
Check the wiring diagram.
I can't find a single connector shown that contains the orange/green/grey wires. You can see where the come from the turn signal switch, but it looks like the just plug into another connector that also has orange/green/grey wires.
Problem with the diagram is that it doesnt show where on the bike these connectors are located. But it should be in the area of your female plug so it can connect.

I know that it should be their but it is not? The wires from the turn signal switch are green,grey, and orange. They go into main harness then out to a female connector. I checked continuity and the wires are good I just have no where to plug them it! Unless I am really dumb and it is right in front of me.

Wiley....I do not have a 900 but I looked at your wiring diagram. It looks like there is a separate connector that goes to your hazard switch. This is different then connecting to the turn signal. So, trace it from your hazard switch down. Let us know how u make out.:whistle:

Ok, What if I do not have a hazard switch? Is their a way that I could wire the signals up? The turn signal relay is plugged in. Or do I need the hazard switch? I would think their has to be a way to wire it without the hazard switch. Need help though!

Wiley - Welcome! I went to the garage and moved back the tank on my 76 900LTD and took a quick look. Here's a picture. The turn-signal harness definitely connects to a plug on the main wiring harness. I marked the cables with a yellow X. It would seem that your main harness is missing it's connector. If memory serves me correct, only the turn signal connector could fit into the receiving (turn-signal)connector on the main harness. So you may be in for some time-consuming tough wire color code searching and do some splicing. Or perhaps buy a used main wiring harness off of ebay. Sometimes folks on this site have them for sale or free. Goodluck.

Skippr76KZ and I have '76 900 LTDs. They came from the factory WITHOUT a hazard switch. Our bikes don't have the knob, located below the instrument panel, that turns on the flashers.
If your bike doesn't have a hazzard switch knob, it may be an LTD, and Skip's wiring is correct for your model. If yours is a Standard, then the wiring may be slightly different from Skip's.
What's your frame number? It's located on the R/H side of the forks, just below the handlebars.

The frame number is Z1F-089819.

I'm kinda at a loss what to do here. The guy told me he took the bike apart for painting ten years and never put it back together. Said everything was in the boxes.

I'm hoping this is an easy fix!

According to Zedder ( www.zedder.com ), it's a '76 KZ900-A4, manufactured in Japan.
That means it's a Standard, not an LTD, so it came from the factory with a hazzard switch.

Here's some photos of the connector that has nothing to connect to. Is there any way to wire this up without a hazard switch (which I do not have)?
