Help...I posted a while back about my bike (77 kz 400), about loss of power and while its running, just killing, normally restarts right away but not always, has to set a while. I sent the stator in to be rebuilt, they sent it back saying it was fine, just replaced the rectifier, still lacks power and cuts in and out, not killing, but power surges.
and ideas, suggestion
thanks

engine power, around 6000rpm, starts running rough seems to loose power mainly in higher gears
the ignition coil on it looks like something for a harley, but not sure.

Harley parts? Well that's a red flag.. ;)

Anyway, I read your earlier post and the replies about chasing down electrical faults. I want to agree that you should be doing a really good once-over, looking for loose connections, or corroded ones, or rustly ones, bad grounds, etc.

The part about getting worse and failing when warmed up, is suspicious, reminds me of my failing coil... But the combination of how you said it seems to be primarily in higher rpm could also be fuel starvation, like if your petcock is clogged or the gas cap air hole is blocked.... or something...

I see that the fellow member "lunchbox" said in your earlier post that he would help you with electrical troubleshooting. Any results there?

Also, have you heard of the "Fault-Finding" chart from Electrosport?
www.electrosport.com/Images/fault_finding.pdf
...give that a try and see if it helps...

Good luck!
