Crusty Sheathing

Might be of interest to you fellas that want to maintain your original Main wiring harness. I've NEVER bought an aftermarket harness in my long lived Kawasaki venture. Just repurpose them originals. Maintains all the original insulation color coding for a simple swap. Coil of sheath shown is for the Z's not the KZ's, they were a bigger ID. Also the earliest Z's used black covers on the headlight shell contained connectors. Dropped use starting in the Z1A, crowding apparently was a problem. Anyhoot, something to consider.

Doc or Teflon Don ha. Do Your introduction as stated/required and then..lets get Your crap done!! Before i went out to mow, finished wrapping this 74/75 main harness. Had been lingering in a tub for several years. Anyhoot, done now. Always start wrapping from the rear and work your way foreword towards the    front sheath. Just like they did it originally. Keeps tape from unravelling. Sometimes the "tag" is salvageable, sometimes it's blown away and missing?

For what its worth, when i did my harness i came across this site. It has oem thin walled high amp wires and they even have multi pin and bullet connectors. Good to bookmark just in case.

I would add when taping looms, do the "branches" first (this way when you tape the main section it ties in the ends of the tape on the branches) hold one end of the loom in a vice so you can pull it straight while taping and make your tape turns approx 45 degrees to the loom with about 30% overlap on each turn. Just the way I prefer to do it

For what it's worth, I use Tesa tape instead of the black vinyl stuff.  It sticks better.  You did a nice job on your loom.
