Are they the same junk. NOS Japan points are getting harder to find and pricy.

The Chinese ones are absolute junk and a waste of money.
Even used (Taiwan) originals from the 70's are better than the Chinese crap.
Chinese condensors are even worse than their points so steer clear. I'd rather scour breakers than buy new Chinese.
If your having trouble finding genuine (Taiwan) points/condensors your best bet is to swop to electronic.

Taiwan has been a manufacturing powerhouse for a very long time. Most if not all higher end bicycles are made in Taiwan to a very high standard.

I would trust a part made in Taiwan over China always.

If your handy you may be able to adapt GM automotive points and condenser. They use to sell points plates for 650's and 900's with those mounted under the name "Maxi-Dwell", but points for a V8 might outlast the bike!

Its not 76 Z1. Where's the condensors.?
Never seen a ignition plate like that on any kawasaki I've worked on.

On the Maxi-Dwell the points plates were made from aluminum and the condensers are mounted on the back of the plate (that yellow on lower left) the toggle switch goes to a light to set the timing without extra tools. You can just barely see the tiny bulb behind the black wire in that round opening.

The point used are GM points off a car or truck engine. Everything but the points were proprietary.
