There has got to be a direct plug-in LED brake/tail light for the 1983 KZ750? Does anyone know what it is?

Are you referring to a bulb or complete taillight unit?  The bulb(s) are probably a standard 1157 dual filament bulb.

If you try to run a LED 1157 tail light bulb it most likely won't work the way the stock harness is wired. I have heard of some higher end bulbs working (can't remember the name) but not cheap made in China bulbs. I have tried a few times to make those work with no luck. It may have something to do with the built in brake light malfunction circuit.

I used to buy them from Oreilly for my equipment trailers. Those trailers, single and twin axle, vibrate quite a bit because they don't have shocks/dampers so the LED's worked much longer then the conventional 1157's. You want a BA15D Bayonet, 1157. I don't remember having to re-wire anything, just plug and go.

There is a potential issue with this. Early bulb failure warning relied on the relay seeing ground through the bulb, if the bulb blows there is no ground signal to the relay when the brakes are operated.

1157 led replacments are available, on Amazon, even have lamps that flash 5 times, then go solid, brake lamp failure unit under tank is looking for incandescent load(resistance), they also have resistors that wire in parallel, to supply that load, will pt p a pic later of resisters

resistor used, Wook this install will stop the warning from functioning, unless the resistor blows, led by itself works but lamp in tach stays on, as led is non filament, one time the fail unit was disconnected, and lamp was on, just assuming it’s looking for a load, and your theory, the results are the same, lamp in tach comes on,
