Do you have any local automotive speed shops where you live? They usually have deals on oddball plug wire sets (Import car/4 cylinder) open box returns, etc. or they can make you a set of solid core wires from bulk wire roll and boot ends.

I buy on sale V8 sets then cut them down and make 2 x 4 cylinder sets (our sets are very short length) but you need to invest in a crimping tool to reuse the spark plug ends. My sets end up being better and cheaper than those overpriced sets from Taylor or Dyna. I now usually buy Moroso or MSD wires.

Most auto speed shops sell drag racing parts, drag cars use solid core wires in copper or stainless steel (no EMI suppression) With these wires you can use both types of spark plugs.

You can also use spiral core wire which has slightly higher suppression (what your calling resistor) but are still a performance wire (low EMI suppression) These would be on a performance vehicle but still able to use the radio, etc. If you use these wires then be sure to use a non "R" spark plug.

Carbon core wires are the ones to be avoided as they have the highest EMI suppression for electronic and radio interference, these are what OEM vehicles use (F.I. ECU, touch screen, etc)

Some of those NGK plug caps have a mechanical "resistor" just like the spark plugs with a "R" designation. You can easily take the resistor part out on the caps and plugs, its a ceramic wire/plug. No need to order new parts, just look on YouTube for how to remove video.

If you can't source locally and want to buy on-line Amazon have a selection of 7mm and 8mm copper core HT lead

Something or another avenue if you choose. Because i maintain original parts, i just service the original caps. Yes..they too come apart, just have to know what you are doing. Unlike the NGK which ceramic resistor is easily removable, original caps are a bit trickier but still doable. Replacing the resistor with a simple slug upon re-assembly always an option. Food for thought.
