Lights
15 Sep 2025 08:11
I did a search but couldn't find any results on the type of lighting for my KZ1000 project. Should I go with all LED or just regular bulbs and a halogen headlight?

Entirely your choice - I would suggest sticking with incandescent bulbs in your warning lights though (my 82 build is all LED) you will need a non-load sensing flasher unit

Sealed beams seem to fetch a premium price these days? I have an original 1016 proper NOS Stanley but remembering the old days an old incandescent Wagner fits, if You can find them anymore?

The type of main headlamp lens that takes a halogen bulb are the next setup above a sealed beam. Gotta be careful about current consumption, because some high power bulbs will melt your harness at the plug. Incandescent bulbs for everything else is the simple solution.

Whoops Mis-information, meant 001-1014 not 0016. But regardless, somehow these have become "overpriced because of availability. Just bought a smaller variation for an H1 500 triple and paid over 300 clams for it.

Hi look up a Stanley 1970 assembly, fit various models in 70’s and 80’s, standard 7 inch fitmint, used a h4 lamp dual element halagon, and a h4 led equivalent, in old days we just got any 7 inch lamp at auto store and called it a day
