blue taped splices in harness.

My 1981 KZ-1100a had several open circuits and some melted connectors in it's wiring harness. I found the black and yellow wires and the brown wires were spliced and taped with 1 inch of blue tape. The splices have broken. I bought one on e-bay for $40. I did remember how it was routed for the battery, tail lights and engine. So that's fine. But I'm ditching the Wind Jammer so now the rout through the frame to the handlebars looks clumsy and sloppy. I'm probably routing it wrong. Can someone please, take a picture and show me the rite path.

I have a 1981-KZ1100A1.
 

The bike is a KZ-1100a1. I bought another harness on E-bay. This one still had the factory wrapping intact, it also had the same failed splices wrapped in the same blue tape. So YES is the answer, the factory did do shitty splices! I bought it for less than the price Z1 enterprises wanted for 5' of Black and yellow wire. I fixed my harness and all the connectors are secure and shouldn't worry loose again.
