Side Stand Safety Switch
23 Aug 2024 04:15
As I get closer to actually riding my 2002 KZ1000P I have a small electrical issue relating to the side stand switch. The bike didn’t have one in place when I got it so I bought an NOS switch and installed it. There is a two prong connector behind the left side cover that I plugged into but it is not working. The switch is working properly as I checked continuity, but I get no power from the connector it is plugged into (Br/R and B/Y wires). The side stand switch doesn’t show on the wiring schematic and I can’t find the Br/R and B/Y connector on the schematic either, but those wires go back into the main harness. If anyone has some experience with this any input would be appreciated. I know I don’t need it since the bike runs without it but I would like to keep it in place. Thanks

Will try and look at a diagram over the weekend, if it works without the switch fitted it sounds like it has been “by-passed” somewhere.
