I replaced my positive battery terminal on what I believe is the starter relay and can’t remember the order of these connections...

It would help us to offer suggestions if you had mentioned what bike / model you are working on. I might suggest you add it to the sig area. I did take a look at other posts you made and in them you are working on a 81 440 D2. I have a wiring pic for a D1 but not a D2. I do not know if there are diff between the 2 years or not.
But here it is.

What a pity you took pics after and not before pulling it to bits

The bike is an 81 kz440d1 ltd belt model. i don’t have much info about it as it doesn’t have a title. I’ll take any photo references you guys offer.

I tried to download the pdf and it read me an error message, is there any way I could use a voltage tester or multimeter?

The KZ400.com site has the factory service manual. click the "here" on the right. you'll know what I'm talking about when you get there.
I just now downloaded it, so the link does work.

Thanks a lot. I think I got it, unless the open ended side of the connector is what’s in the diagram. I have the rectifier connection on bottom and the ignition connection on top, I’m going to try and solder the frayed wire as well.

Keep in mind that the wiring diag is for a D1 and you have a D2. There may well be differences between the 2 years I do not know.

I have no idea, I’ll see when I get my battery and ignition. Both terminals are replaced and from different models that I soldered to old terminal pieces. I’ll keep posted
