I'm kind of at my wits end with this rebuild. 1982 KZ1000J2, new rings, head restored and then the starter motor burned the brushes off and the magnets in the Housing (core as they refer to it in the FSM) broke apart. I have a few thousand into this rebuild and they want $230.00 for a new starter motor. Not sure if I should just sell the bike as is or hopefully someone has a starter motor laying around that I can purchase for a reasonable price.
