This was something that came up in another thread that I thought I would share with you. Modern vehicles have multiple "failsafe" features built in that everybody has become used to. I have seen a few posts where guys have burnt out their coils by leaving the ignition on etc so I thought I would offer the following. This 2 relay system uses the well proven "wired George" mod but also incorporates an added layer of protection. The coils don't receive voltage until the oil pressure light goes out, now this will mean an extra few seconds cranking on a cold start but will ensure oil is flowing before start - also if you lose oil pressure while riding this system will cut the ignition hopefully before engine damage occurs (might be of interest to you guys with "high dollar" motors) As I said this is just something I thought I would share, you can decide if it's for you or not

Good idea but it may be tricky in the summer if you are using 10w-40 and it's hot outside.
When you stop at a stoplight and your bike drops to idle.
The oil light coming on due to low rpm and hot thin oil.
You may have to maintain a higher idle to keep the oil pressure up.
