I have, among my bikes, a KZ750 Twin. The starter clutch is garbage and is said to be a common problem among these bikes. Anyone else resort to kickstart only or find a starter clutch workaround? Is fixing the starter clutch worth the hassle?
I kick ALL my bikes, except my ZRX 1200R and my 1982 Honda CB900F super sport (they dont have kickstart obv) and dont mind kicking, but the compression on the KZ750 is STRONG/High. Only my 1972 Honda CB750 comes close....kinda.
Ive engaged on this topic before, but have come back to it as I was out riding yesterday (the weather was GORGEOUS in nyc). Stopped with friends for a bite to eat and this mighty fine girl in a group of girls said "you look so cool" when I started kick started the bike, while my friends on Ducati Monsters and Triumphs simply hit their start buttons. My have looked cool to her, but of course, she didnt feel the kickback/ compression involved with kicking a KZ750.
