KZ650-H3 bare bones rewire
21 Jan 2023 21:12
Hey All!!
I am super new to KZ650s. My wife recently purchased a 1983 KZ650 CSR and is wanting to do a brat style build on it. She wants to strip off everything and only leave the absolute necessities. I have a bit of bike wiring knowledge as I just got done building a bike of my own.
With that being said, does anyone have a bare bones wiring diagram for an 83? I can find every other year except that one.
I need one with JUST the headlight, taillight, blinkers and necessary ignition components.
and yes, before anyone says it, I do infact have a manual lol.
Thanks and I can't wait to learn from everyone!

There are some older threads on this subject. Here is one such example...

Regarding your specific bike, it's a matter of removing everything you don't want and leaving the rest. Maybe start with the factory wiring diagram and highlighting the circuits you want to keep, then everything else can go.
